About Me

Catherine Rogers, L.C.S.W

At a young age, I noticed that friends sought me out and trusted me with their most vulnerable selves.  Perhaps it was my early recognition of the importance of “keeping their secret” and of not judging them when they shared their thoughts and feelings.  In my teenaged years, I tagged along to court with my father and watched him try divorce and custody hearings.  Bearing witness to the deep pain as these people battled against the one they had once trusted completely inspired me to practice therapy.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in private practice since 2002, I began with an extensive education.  Throughout the years, I have maintained a broad client base while developing particular specialties that enrich my clients' care and help me to see each client's journey as their own. My clients have particularly benefitted from my specialized training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (popularly known as EMDR).  Originally developed to treat serious trauma, it is widely used to treat depression, anxiety, panic attacks, negative self-beliefs, and recurring nightmares.

I was educated through the University of Tennessee system, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from UT Chattanooga and a Master of Science in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from UT Knoxville.

I am currently licensed to work with clients throughout the states of Tennessee, New York, and Virginia in my Chattanooga office and through a secure Telehealth platform.
